8/1/26 SUBJECT- Rancho Gabriela Parking Enforcement Update
The Rancho Gabriela Board of Directors would like to inform all residents that parking enforcement stickers are now being placed on vehicles that are parked on community streets in violation of the Association's parking restrictions.
The primary reason for this enforcement is community safety. Keeping streets clear helps improve visibility for drivers and pedestrians, provides better access for emergency vehicles, sanitation trucks, and other essential services, and promotes a safer environment for everyone who lives in Rancho Gabriela.
The Board of Directors understands that parking restrictions can sometimes be inconvenient. However, the Board also has a responsibility to consistently enforce the Association's CC&Rs and applicable Arizona law. Consistent enforcement helps ensure that the community remains safe, orderly, and fair for all residents.
In accordance with A.R.S. § 33-1818, the membership voted in May 2025 to retain the Association's authority to enforce the community's parking restrictions on public streets. Following that membership vote, the Board of Directors voted in June 2026 to authorize the Association's third-party overnight parking enforcement vendor to begin placing parking notification stickers on vehicles found to be parked in violation of the Association's parking regulations. The vendor confirms stickers will be found on glass surfaces only, on either the windshield or driver’s side window. The only association-approved sticker is square, white, and written in all-caps in plain text. Any deviation from this design is not valid and did not come from the association.
These stickers serve as a visible notice that a vehicle has been observed parked in violation of the community's parking rules. Their purpose is to increase awareness and encourage voluntary compliance with the Association's CC&Rs.
Regarding Sticker Residue
The Association has received comments regarding the possibility of adhesive residue remaining on vehicles, particularly during periods of extreme Arizona heat. Our parking enforcement vendor has advised that if any residue remains after removing the sticker, applying a small amount of WD-40 to the affected area and wiping it away with a soft cloth should remove the residue easily.
